Temperature-resistant immersion thermometer with high moisture resistance.

The eXacal immersion thermometers (platinum resistance thermometers) are temperature sensors designed for extreme environments where both the junction and leads must withstand temperatures over the entire temperature range of the temperature sensor. These immersion thermometers can be used in various applications, including the calibration of sensors in laboratory coolers, autoclaves, ovens, stability test chambers and incubators. The immersion thermometers have a length of 70 mm and a diameter of 4 mm. They can be fully immersed in liquids or dry media from -50 °C to 200 °C. The immersion thermometer with a nominal resistance of 100 Ohm is designed so that water and moisture cannot penetrate, while measurement uncertainties of up to 6 mK are achieved with a DAkkS calibration.

Calibration

Immersion thermometers can be calibrated in our own DAkkS calibration laboratory in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. DAkkS accreditation ensures that all calibrations are traceable to national and international standards.

The immersion thermometers have been designed so that they can be calibrated very well at fixed temperature points. This is possible because the transition point has such a small diameter that it can be inserted into the temperature fixed points. The measurement uncertainty is calculated from many components. The largest contributions to the measurement uncertainty balance are the reproducibility of the thermometer, ITS-90 deviation function, self-heating and hysteresis of the temperature sensor. With the parameters from the calibration certificate, the immersion thermometer can be used with the respective deviation function in the temperature range from -38 °C to 156 °C.
